Renovation Project

A ground floor was added underneath this Queenslander in Morningside to create a separate living space for dad to work from home. Also another bedroom with ensuite was included for the extended family to stay.

Extensive excavations were carried out and retaining walls built to allow a ground floor to be built under the existing house without the need to raise it.

A bedroom with an ensuite along with a rumpus room with a large amount of built in storage and desk form part of this extension. A spacious laundry also has plenty of storage space and built in cabinetry.

The downstairs floors are finished with polished concrete. Other features of the renovation include timber doors and windows, a covered hardwood deck and the ground floor is fully insulated with soundproofing batts between the ceiling and upper floor.

Some alterations were done upstairs to accommodate the new internal stairs, the external stairs and balustrades were replaced, concrete paths were put around the dwelling  and a pavilion was built in the backyard overlooking the pool.
